Tips on Terrific Thanksgiving Table-scapes

A terrific Thanksgiving table-scape will make your food taste better than it already is and make all the difference for holiday success. Here is why… Your guests will be gushing so much over your beautiful table decorations that they could care less if the bird is overdone or the jello mold is lopsided. You will look like you’ve pulled Thanksgiving together, single-handedly and they will be raving how impressive it looks.

I hear you rolling your eyes at the very idea of decorating for Thanksgiving, on top of everything else you need to do. I get it, you are up to your elbows in Thanksgiving turkey (literally) and you don’t really have time to come up with a decorating scheme yourself. I am literally serving you up some scrumptious, 5 minute tables-capes to pull together for your own home from items you probably have hanging around the house.

This one is so easy it makes me want to laugh. Grab those apothecary jars you have around your house and go for a long walk to relieve some holiday stress. Your thighs will thank me for it later. As you are walking, stop to pick up some acorns or if you are not a “nature” person, you can also buy any kind of shelled nut. Stick a candle in the center and some greenery around to complete your holiday look. Yup, that’s right, you are done!

Here is another easy peasy one, gather up your pumpkins and gourds, add some fresh fruit, pine cones or nuts and a votive or two viola, your decor is simple, elegant, colorful and done.

How colorful and quaint this one looks! I love the various heights of candles among the row of votives.

Okay, so these little feather friends may not be hanging around your home but how freaking cute are they? I am fairly certain a Pier One store would have some version of these… I beg you to check it out, they’ll be a hit!

So let them come to feast, you are now prepared with an amazing table-scape for the bird to perch on. I am sure your guests will be so impressed, they won’t even notice, you forgot to get cranberry sauce at the store. Oopps!

Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving holiday, we have LOTS to be thankful for, especially you, our readers!

Terri Lind Davis - My favorite are the corn kernels in wineglasses topped with a candle. A very quick and clever idea for dressing the table.
