It may seem like summer just began, but we’re already stepping tentatively into a new season. While many of us are still mourning the sunshine, others are embracing fall for all its worth.
In recent years, this has become a much loved season. It’s easy to see why when you consider the colors all around, and the smells we associate with the cooler weather. You’d be hard pushed to find anyone who hasn’t rushed out for a pumpkin spiced latte already. The comforting smell of spices is one many of us crave as the weather turns. Plus, there’s something cozy about the nights drawing in. Soon, you’ll be able to put your pajamas on by half four without feeling guilty.
All in all, it’s an incredibly sensual season. Which is why you should mark the occasion with a sensual fall makeover in your home.
Of course, we all know the real sound of autumn is crackling leaves underfoot. Sorry to disappoint, but you’d be hard pressed to fit that into your home. Instead, look to other sounds which mark the season.
For one, it’ll soon be time for us to crank the heating. Nothing quite beats hearing your heater boot up for the first time of the year. But, you could take things even further by investing in something like these talking thermostats. Within no time, the spoken announcement of your temperature will become a staple for the changing season. One of these will help you keep track of temperatures, as well as being invaluable for those who struggle to see the screen. Let’s be honest; small thermostat screens can be hard to get your head around, especially when the nights get darker.
A new sound system may also be on the cards for this season. While it isn’t quite time for Christmas music yet, the soothing sound of your favorite songs could be the ideal thing to relax you in the evenings.
As mentioned above, those colorful leaves are the things we most associate with fall. As such, it’s essential you incorporate the colors into your home. Oranges, browns, and rust reds, all work together to make this season as cozy as possible.

Invest in orange cushions to add a splash of vibrant color to your room. It’s also worth stocking up on blankets, which can be both striking and practical. Again, orange would work well here, or you could opt for a rust red which would see you through the winter.
Of all the senses, our smell most comes into play during fall. As well as the spices we all love so much; the season has the smell of bonfires and a chill in the air. As such, there are many ways to bring scent into your home at this time. Don’t hesitate to head for some of the amazing fall candles on offer. Cinnamon and spice should be top of your list. Even better, these smells will still be appropriate over the Christmas period!
